James Franco To Guest Star On ‘The Mindy Project’

As if James Franco wasn’t busy enough, he has yet another role to add to his resume. The actor, who has taken various guest starring roles on television shows including General Hospital and 30 Rock, is now stopping by FOX to make an appearance on The Mindy Project.

Franco will be making his appearance on the first episode opening the third season of The Mindy Project. It is said that the actor will play Dr. Paul Leotard, who is described as a charismatic character and popular doctor who will act as Mindy’s replacement while she is on her volunteer trip to Haiti with her pastor boyfriend.

James Franco’s character, Dr. Paul Leotard is: “A former professional fashion model, Dr. Leotard radically altered his career goals after he accidentally walked off a runway at fashion week and was saved by a pregnant woman.”

“From that day forward, he devoted himself to helping pregnant women and immediately applied to medical school.”

James Franco will appear in the first and second episodes of season three. The third season of The Mindy Project will premiere on Tuesday, September 17.

In addition to his upcoming guest stint on The Mindy Project, Franco will be the subject of his own roast on Comedy Central that will tape in August and is set to air on Labor Day.

Currently Franco has wrapped in London where he was filming the thriller Good People with co-star Kate Hudson. The actor-director-professor-artist has six projects in post-production.

Some of those productions include his student-filmed project, Black Dog Red Dog, and an adaptation on his novel Palo Alto, directed by Gia Coppola.

Recently Franco pulled out of directing The Garden of Last Days, which was to star Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke. Instead the actor picked up a classic to adapt, The Sound and the Fury.
