YouTube Star Talia Joy Castellano Dies At 13
Talia Joy Castellano, a 13-year-old YouTube beauty guru, has died today of cancer.
Many followed Talia Joy’s videos as well as six-year battle with cancer, one endured for nearly half her short life.
In March, Talia Joy broke the news to fans and friends that her cancer was deemed terminal, and used social media to stay in touch in the months that followed.
Heavy news for a tween to deliver, but Talia Joy told fans back in March:
When I talk to people about the way I feel about death or my cancer, the way I talk is very explicit because I face reality. It’s not like I’m happy or something; it’s that I face reality and I’m truthful, but I believe that I can fight it and I believe that I can beat the crap out of cancer.
On Sunday, Talia’s Facebook page posted the following update about the ailing girl’s condition, saying:
“Talia woke up again today and looked a bit uncomfortable so Talia’s Mom and the nurse moved her and tucked pillows behind her back and legs. Talia’s Mom then said ‘try and sleep and rest’ and Talia responded, ‘I am trying, but you keep bothering me.’… Lol, that’s Talia for you.”
This afternoon, the Angels For Talia page (with nearly 300,000 fans) posted the following update, saying:
It is with a heavy heart that we share with all of you that Talia has earned her wings at 11:22am. Please lift her beautiful soul, her beautiful light to heaven and please send your love and prayers to her family during this most difficult time. God speed little one, may you be free from pain and suffering, may your soul feel the light and love that you brought to so many of us on this Earth during the short time you were her with us. We will miss you more than you will ever know baby girl.
