Lea Michele should "kill herself" after the unexpected death of boyfriend Cory Monteith, the Westboro Baptist Church has said.
The church blasted Michele on Twitter, where it also announced plans to picket the funeral for Monteith, who was found dead this weekend in a Vancouver hotel room.
The Kansas-based church, which has become infamous for its rabidly anti-gay protests, has been criticizing Monteith on Twitter continually since his death was announced early Sunday.
"PRAISE GOD ALMIGHTY for killing Cory Monteith — a wicked f**-enabling sinner! Westboro Baptist Church to picket his funeral," the church wrote.
The Westboro Baptist Church has found opportunity in nearly every national tragedy in recent years. Its members threatened to picket after the Aurora theater shooting, Sandy Hood Elementary School massacre, and the recent funerals for 19 firefighters killed battling a wildfire in Arizona.
The church has made some other, odder targets as well. Earlier this summer its members vowed to picket at concerts for Taylor Swift and One Direction.
But Cory Monteith appeared to remain a top target.
"Westboro praises God for his righteous judgments. Hell won't be gleeful for
#CoryMonteith - he taught millions to sin"
The church also attacked Lea Michele in a fake eulogy, writing:
"Will @msleamichele kill herself as well? Then the wedding can go on as planned IN HELL! - invites for all their fans!"
On late Monday the church announced it has started preparations to picket the funeral, though it would be seen as a surprise if members actually do show up. The church has been known more for empty threats lately, and rarely actually shows up when it claims it will.
Lea Michele likely will not be answering the Westboro Baptist Church. The girlfriend of Cory Monteith said she just wants privacy in her difficult period.
