E! working on ‘Bridalplasty,’ where cutthroat brides compete for cosmetic procedures

Remember how scary the idea of Stephen King’s The Running Man was when you first heard it?

Well, we’re one step closer now thanks to a planned show on E! where competitive brides will complete challenges in order to win a bevy of cosmetic procedures. Reality programming featuring either horrifying bridal behavior (Bridezillas) or plastic surgery and competition (The Swan) isn’t new, but E! is certainly digging new ground with the introduction of Bridalplasty. (Emphasis on digging.)

From THR:

Each week, a group of women competes head-to-head in such challenges as writing wedding vows and planning honeymoons. The winner receives the chance to choose a plastic surgery procedure from her “wish list.” She’s given the procedure immediately, and results are shown at the start of the following week’s episode… The last bride standing will receive a “dream wedding,” where she will reveal her new appearance to friends, family and the groom. “Viewers will witness his emotional and possibly shocked reaction as they stand at the altar and he lifts her veil to see her for the first time following her extreme plastic surgery,” E! said.

Cosmetic surgeon Terry Dubrow will carry out the procedures, and D-lister Shanna Moakler is said to be the show’s host.
