Adam Lambert Joins ‘Glee’ Cast

Adam Lambert is heading to William McKinley High School this year with a new role on Glee.

The hit Fox show lost several of its key cast members after last season but creator Ryan Murphy is working to make sure that the show has enough star power for season five.

It’s unclear if Lambert will have a recurring role or a guest spot on the series. All we know so far is that Murphy is “thrilled” to have the former American Idol contestant on board.

Murphy writes on Twitter: “I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall.”

Yahoo TV notes that Lambert won’t be the first American Idol star to join the Glee cast. Jessica Sanchez appeared in two episodes during the show’s fourth season.

Lambert is definitely comfortable in front of a camera but he doesn’t have too much acting experience. According to his IMDB page, his only other acting credit came in 2006 when he played Joshua in The Ten Commandments musical.

Do you think Adam Lambert will be a good addition to the cast?

Glee recently announced that five of the show’s original cast members would not be returning to the show next year. In addition to adding Lambert to the cast, the Fox show has also promoted five recurring actors to series regulars.

The new season of Glee will air starting this September.
