Drunk Teen Who Crashed Into Three Houses Sentenced Six Months In Jail

A drunk teen who crashed into three houses with her BMW was sentenced to six months in jail.

Laura Binch apparently wasn’t very remorseful after the accident. She even had the nerve to ask one of the homeowners, “Do you know who my dad is? He’s rich.”

According to Prosecutor David Outterside, the British teen tried to snatch the homeowner’s phone and told him not to call the police.

“She showed no remorse at the scene, she showed no concern for any of the householders and didn’t apologize,” Outterside said.

The drunk teen who crashed into three houses was drinking champagne at home and at a bar before she got behind the wheel. She was driving very fast in a 30 mph zone and her friends even told her to slow down.

When police questioned her, she said, “Something ran into the road and I swerved to avoid it.”

Binch’s defense attorney, Martin Callery, told the judge that she bitterly regretted the incident. “She has been lying awake worrying about that night and if things had turned out worse than they did. She has been worrying about the outcome of these proceedings,” he said.

Judge John Burgess sentenced Binch to six months in a young offenders’ institution and banned her from driving for two years.

“Whether it was the drink talking, there was a high degree of arrogance. It was a miracle nobody was seriously injured and your culpability was high,” he said.

Binch isn’t the only teen who has crashed into someone’s house while driving drunk. In May, a North Carolina teen went off the road and hit a tree and house. Nathan Staskelunas was charged with driving while impaired and reckless driving.

Although no one was injured in the accident, the estimate damage to the home was around $3,000.

Do you think the drunk teen who crashed into three houses got a fair sentence?
