2010 College Football Previews: Nebraska Cornhuskers

The Nebraska Cornhuskers will enter the 2010 CFB season as the #7 ranked team according to the Sporting News. This team has a big hole to fill on the D line given the loss of Ndamukong Suh. However many feel that this team is reloading on defense. Their offense will be led by Senior QB Zac Lee whose game improves with his health. If he falters this team has other options there. Their Punter, Alex Henrey, can change games with his foot.

The key date on their schedule is October 16th when they get the Texas Longhorns at home. Many College Football pundits are picking the Cornhuskers to win the Big 12 North, however since they are jumping ship to the Big Ten many other Big 12 teams will be looking to get some revenge on them. Nebraska has not beaten Texas in the regular season since 1874. They will need to win this game to prove they are legit BCS contenders.

Even though this team lost its best player on over a decade, many believe that the Nebraska program has turned a corner and can return itself to year to year CFB dominance. The team feels like it is relevant again, and capable of lasting dominance. That is good for the Big Ten as they will want this program to anchor the Big Ten West or South division.

This team’s next big thing is OT Jermarcus Hardrick. He is 6-7 and 320 pounds with a big motor. He was all the talk at Spring Ball and may make a big splash in 2010.
