America’s Snobbiest Cities Revealed In New Survey

America’s snobbiest cities have been revealed in a new survey. The team at Travel and Leisure determined which cities are the snobbiest by examining various factors that make those cities unique in their own right.

Cities were chosen based on such factors as their “reputation for aloof and smarty-pants residents, along with high-end shopping and highbrow cultural offerings like classical music and theater.”

The snobbiest cities in America were also chosen based on their “tech-savviness, artisanal coffeehouses, and a conspicuous eco-consciousness.”

Based on those considerations, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the tech-savvy, food friendly, and eco-conscious city of San Francisco topped the list of America’s snobbiest cities. San Francisco is a foodie mecca that also features a strong arts culture and a high cost of living that is nearly unparalleled in the United States.

New York City was listed as the second snobbiest city in America thanks to its focus on fashion and money.

Boston, Massachusetts rounded out the top three snobbiest cities in America because of its “snooty” college and arts scenes.

Minneapolis took the fourth spot while Santa Fe, New Mexico and Seattle, Washington tied for fifth place.

Here is the top 10 list of America’s snobbiest cities.

1. San Francisco, CA
2. New York, New York

4. Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN
5. Santa Fe, NM/Seattle, WA (tie)
