BET Awards 2013: Drake Leads Tonight’s Show With 12 Nominations

The BET Awards 2013 air tonight, and we have a feeling Drake will walk away with a few trophies. That’s because the superstar rapper has been nominated for 12 honors including five nods for video of the year, which features a total of 10 nominees.

The BET Awards air tonight at 8pm Central time on BET.

Drake was nominated for his own hits including “Started from the Bottom” and “HYFR” and for some of his guest appearances on tracks that included 2 Chainz’s “No Lie,” A$AP Rocky’s “(Expletive) Problems,” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Poetic Justice.”

Drake will have plenty of competition in the music video category as he faces off against Justin Timberlake with his hit song “Suit & Tie,” Rihanna and her hit “Diamonds,” Kanye West and his song “Mercy,” Miguel and his song “Adorn,” and breakthrough artists Macklemore & Ryan and their massively played radio triumph “Thrift Shop.”

While Drake will be holding strong to take the night’s top award, he will also be in attendance to watch some of his fellow artists take to the BET Awards stage. Performances at the show will include Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj. As you may be aware, Chris Brown and Drake feuded over Rihanna earlier in the year.

Mariah Carey will take to the BET Awards stage to debut her new single titled “#Beautiful.”

Justin Timberlake, who is up for best male R&B artist and best collaboration for “Suit & Tie” with Jay-Z, will also take to the stage, possibly with Jay-Z in tow.

Other scheduled performers for the BET Awards 2013 include Stevie Wonder, R. Kelly, India.Arie, Ciara, and Robin Thicke.

While Drake is nominated for 12 BET Awards, there is still plenty of room for other winners.

The BET Awards are hosted this year by comedian Chris Tucker.

Will you be turning on your TV to watch the BET Awards 2013 at 8pm Eastern?
