2010 Green Bay Packers Preview

If the Green Bay Packers are going to have a lot of success they must do a better job of protecting QB Aaron Rodgers. He was sacked 50 times last year, and that is far too many. Hopefully the additions they made via the draft will give them the depth and skill they need to keep their franchise QB on his feet. I have a personal interest in this as Rodgers is my QB in a fantasy keeper league. Otherwise I am pretty high on this team, and I think they look like the best team in the NFC North.

Rodgers will lead the offense again, and he has Ryan Grant and Brandon Jackson as his two primary runners. Donald Driver and Greg Jennings are the starting wide outs, and they are a very good duo. Jermichael Finley is the team’s TE, and he has a lot of impact potential. The O line is set, save for a training camp position battle at Left Guard. Overall this looks like a pretty good offense.

The Packers run a 3-4 scheme and they have a lot of talent here in BJ Raji on the D line and Clay Matthews in the LB corps. Charles Woodson and Al Harris return as the starting corners with Nick Collins and Moran Burnett as the two starting safeties. This defense is pretty good, and I would like to see them out and dominate.

On Special Teams Mason Crosby will be the kicker, and Chris Bryan will be the punter. It looks like they will use Will Blackmon as their kick and punt returner.
