id Software’s Rage hits U.S. on September 13, 2011

Rage on the iPhone will release this year, but if you’re waiting for id’s Mad Max-style shoot-’em-up-cum-driving-game on a bigger system, it won’t be out on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, or Mac until next year – September 13, 2011, to be precise.

id Software dropped the official release date today, adding that it would release on September 15, 2011 in Europe. At the announcement, the game was shown running on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC hardware simultaneously, churning out a solid 60 frames per second on every platform.
