Lolo Jones Tweet About Rachel Jeantel Makes Followers Mad

Lolo Jones is in hot water for using social media inappropriately yet again. On Thursday while watching testimony from teen Rachel Jeantel during the George Zimmerman trial, Jones got in trouble with Twitter followers.

Rachel Jeantel, who was on the phone with friend Trayvon Martin before he was shot and killed, is on the witness stand giving testimony in the trial against Zimmerman, the accused killer.

On her second day of testimony in the racially divisive case, Jeantel continues providing details of the last moments of Martin’s life and could be proven to be a key witness and key factor in the final jury decision.

Jones, who was recently in trouble for remarks she made complaining of her pay as an Olympic bobsledder, is creating controversy again with her comments on the popular social media site.

Apparently Lolo Jones was not keen of Jeantel’s testimony when she tweeted, “Rachel Jeantel looked so irritated during the cross-examination that I burned it on DVD and I’m going to sell it as Madea goes to court.”

Madea is a Tyler Perry character.

That didn’t sit well with many on Twitter who immediately took Jeantel’s side and called out Jones for being insensitive considering the nature of the Zimmerman case.

The tweets are in some cases personal attacks on her struggling track and bobsled careers. Jones was part of the US delegation at the Summer Olympic games in London, but failed to medal.

Jones’ original tweet remains and so do users calling on her ill timed comment.

Some of the hundreds of responses keep coming on Friday.

Should Lolo Jones apologize for her remarks about Rachel Jeantel?
