BioShock and its equally brilliant sequel took us to underwater utopias at the bottom of the ocean, but the third game in the series will take us to the skies. Announced today, BioShock Infinite is due out for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012.
The game will be set in 1912 in Columbia, a huge, floating lost city in the sky. You’ll play the role of Booker DeWitt, a shadowy agent who’s sent to infiltrate Columbia and bring back a young woman, Elizabeth, who’s been held hostage there since she was a child. Once found, Elizabeth and DeWitt must combine their abilities to escape.
