Bette Midler Sings ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ To Dying Fan [Viral Video]

Veteran actress and singer Bette Midler made one of her fan’s dreams come true when she sang “Wind Beneath My Wings” to her while she lay on her deathbed.

Anna Greenberg was dying from a rare form of cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma, and was in the midst of her back-and-forth battle when she met Midler at a movie premiere last year.

Greenberg had long been a fan of Midler, and shared the story of her health troubles with the entertainer. Afterwards, the two seemed to have kept in touch.

In a viral video posted by Greenberg’s brother Aaron, Midler calls the 28-year-old in the hospital, telling her “I’m thinking about you. You are such an angel, you are such a wonderful soul.”

During the call (which took place last month), Midler encourages Greenberg and catches up with her on her condition. The 67-year-old also acquiesces to one final request. Greenberg asked her to sing “Wind Beneath My Wings” over the phone to her.

You’ll have to see it for yourself, but suffice to say, it’s pretty heartbreaking.

“So glad to see she got this gift from the Divine Miss M…..it obviously meant so much to her. Thank you for posting this. It’s a true human moment, showing the human spirit in all it’s truth and beauty,” wrote one YouTuber.

Anna Greenberg succumbed to her battle with cancer three days after the call.

The video was originally posted to YouTube by Aaron Greenberg, but was upside-down. A YouTuber named Eddie Kercado fixed the video and re-posted it to his account.
