David Beckham Proves That Victoria Can Smile

David Beckham shocked the world on Monday when he posted an image of his wife, Victoria, with a huge smile on her face up onto his social network site.

The former Spice Girl is renowned for having a permanent scowl on her face, but David looked to dispel this myth by posting a picture of Victoria with a huge grin onto Facebook, adding the caption, “See I told you she smiles.”

The post was immediately liked by Beckham’s devoted followers, and, by midday on Monday, it had amassed around 300,000 likes.

Discussing her prevalence for moodiness, Victoria, told Glamour magazine last year that she stopped smiling once she entered the fashion industry.

Mrs. Beckham stated, “I actually used to smile a lot in pictures. I think I only stopped smiling when I got into fashion. Fashion stole me smile! I’ve created this person. And I’m not saying that’s not for me, but I wouldn’t say that’s the whole me and it’s an armour that goes up.”

However, various users decided to use this moment to poke fun at Victoria for her lack of smiling. One user posted the response, “David, I believe in miracles and this is one of them!” which was followed by “That looks so much better than that stupid pout,” and another referenced her chin, by posting, “It’s Jay Leno (chin) ..”

Others were much more positive, noting, “U look lovely when u smile, do it more often xx,” and “I’ve always loved her smile!! since SG! Keep smiling, Victoria!:)”

Last week the Beckhams visited China where their presence caused such a stir that it lead to a stampede that injured seven people after nearly 1,000 fans stormed through a gate to witness their heroes. Beckham has also been touted as a future James Bond by his wife, who thinks he could pull off the role.
