One-Armed Hero Sought: Saved Child From Drowning

A one-armed hero is being sought by a thankful family. The woman saved 3-year-old Caylee Brumlow from drowning in Allatoona Lake, Georgia. The Brumlow family would like to thank their hero personally for saving Caylee’s life.

Caylee and her family were celebrating her fourth birthday with a picnic in the Red Top Mountain area on Saturday. Caylee reportedly wandered away as her parents prepared for the celebration. When Corey and his wife realized Caylee was missing they panicked.

As reported by KSN.com, Caylee’s parents feared the worst. The lake loomed on the horizon and their little girl was nowhere in sight. The Brumlow family scanned the beach and eventually spotted their daughter in the lake.

A women was holding Caylee’s head above the water. Caylee’s father ran to the lake, jumped in, and brought his daughter to the shore. Caylee had swallowed a lot of water and was not breathing.

As reported by 9News.com, when Caylee’s dad laid her on the beach and turned her over, she expelled the water and began breathing.

When his daughter was out of immediate danger, Corey Brumlow turned around and saw the woman who saved Caylee. The one-armed hero had used her only arm to save his daughter from drowning. Brumlow explains what happened next:

“As soon as she walked up, she put her arm around my neck and we hugged and kind of shared a thank you type embrace and I never saw her again.”

Caylee was initially transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for treatment. She was transferred to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where she was eventually released in good health.

The Brumlow family is now searching for the identity of the one-armed hero so they can properly thank her for saving Caylee’s life. They didn’t have the opportunity to exchange anything other than a brief thank you and a hug. As her identification is unknown, the family hopes they will reach her through the media.
