NBC cancels My Own Worst Enemy and Lipstick Jungle

NBC has canceled the Christian Slater action series My Own Worst Enemy and comedy-drama Lipstick Jungle.

My Own Worst enemy debuted October 13 this year, and follows the life of American secret agent Edward Albright and his cover alias, Henry Spivey who has no knowledge of his double life. Albright, played by Christian Slater, is implanted with a chip that allows his handlers to physically switch Albright’s personality to that of his alias. However, in the pilot episode, there is a malfunction which starts Albright’s personalities switching at random, revealing his secret life to his alias.

Yeah, the definition of the show (via Wikipedia) sounds only half as bad as the show itself was.

Lipstick Jungle lasted a little long than My Own Worst Enemy, having first hit TV screens in February 2008. Based on the best-selling book by Candace Bushnell, the show followed three high-powered friends as they weather the ups and downs of lives lived at the top of their game. The cast included Brooke Shields.

Both shows were canceled due to poor ratings. There’s no word yet whether My Own Worst Enemy will be pulled immediately off screen, or serve out its remaining filmed episodes.
