James Gandolfini Dies: Celebrities Show Respects On Twitter


James Gandolfini, the popular Sopranos star, passed away at the age of 51 on Wednesday due to a possible heart attack in Italy. Since news began circulating of his passing, other celebrities have taken to social media to share their thoughts and respects for the award-winning actor.

Gandolfini was always a well-respected actor who put everything into his role as the troubled crime boss in the Sopranos series. His work during HBO’s hit show made him a popular figure for not only fans but also fellow actors who appreciated his hard work and dedication to the craft.

After the show ended, which has since been considered the best written show in television history, Gandolfini moved on to the big screen where he appeared in a few major films as of late. Some of his projects include Where The Wild Things AreThe Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, and Zero Dark Thirty.

At the time of his passing on Wednesday, James Gandolfini was working on three other projects, which included the 2014 crime-drama called Animal Rescue that also featured Tom Hardy. His latest on-screen hit was playing a smaller role in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone comedy flick which co-starred Steve Carell, Jim Carrey, and another Sopranos star in Steve Buscemi.

Gandolfini’s passing has led celebrities to share their grief on Twitter in remembrance of their fellow actor after hearing the devastating news. Carell was one of the first to share his thoughts.

 

Susan Sarandon sent her prayers to his family and also called Gandolfini “one of the sweetest, funniest, most generous actors” that she has ever worked with.

 

His memory will now live on through his family and actors around the world. James Gandolfini is survived by his wife and two children.
