Actor Maury Chaykin dies at 61


Maury Chaykin, a Brooklyn born actor who moved from New York to Canada in the 70s, died today on his 61st birthday.

Chaykin, a large statured man who appeared frequently on both TV and in films, had a career spanning more than 15o credits. Those include the films My Cousin Vinny, A Life Less Ordinary, WarGames, Whale Music, The Postman and Dances With Wolves. His TV credits include a role as a Harvey Weinstein-like character on Entourage, Nero Wolfe, Joan of Arc, King of Kensington, Boston Legal, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and La Femme Nikita.

According to E!, Chaykin had been “battling a kidney ailment,” and the actor passed away at a Toronto hospital “surrounded by friends and family.”
