Stacie Juris: Miss Illinois Wears Hockey Jersey, No Pants To Support Blackhawks

Stacie Juris is willing to go to great lengths to support her Chicago Blackhawks, and for Miss Illinois apparently that means posing in a hockey jersey and no pants.

Juris met up with Miss Massachusetts Sarah Kidd for a photo on Thursday at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. Both young women are wearing hockey jerseys from their home state teams, the Blackhawks and Boston Bruins, as they share angry glances with each other.

The photo seems to be a bit of publicity stunt for the Miss USA pageant, which takes place Sunday at Planet Hollywood, the same venue where Stacie Juris and Sarah Kidd met for their photo.

It seems the gimmick didn’t work out too well for Stacie Juris and the Blackhawks. Just the day before they took the photo the Blackhawks had stolen Game 1, winning 4-3 in the third overtime, but Game 2 on Saturday was a different story.

This time it was the Bruins who scored an overtime winner, beating the Blackhawks 2-1 to even the series.

It may not have been the best idea for Juris, either. The photo helped Juris become one of the top internet searches this weekend, but results also dredged up an event she’d likely rather keep in the past.

In 2011, she was caught leaving a department store in the Orland Square Mall with $288 worth of clothing stuffed into her purse. Mall security called police officers to the scene, who booked Juris and charged her with retail theft.

For the 22-year-old junior at Columbia College in Chicago, the crime could have implications in her post-pageant career. Juris is a fashion business major who said she hopes to open her own dress boutique on day, specializing in prom, pageant, and wedding dresses.

As far as Blackhawks fans go, they likely won’t be clamoring for another picture. The team seems to do much better when she doesn’t pose for promotional shots.
