Big Sister Selena Gomez Welcomes New Sibling
New big sister Selena Gomez, 20, was excited to announce after a long delay that her mom was pregnant — and now a pal of the Disney star confirms the baby has arrived safely.
Big sister Selena Gomez is older than many first time moms as she welcomes her new sibling, but back in May she was thrilled to dish on her mom’s big news.
Gomez’s mom Mandy Teefey and stepdad Brian suffered a pregnancy loss back in 2011, and were quiet about the new arrival until Selena’s sib was about to arrive — but finally in May, Gomez confirmed:
“Momma and Brian are finally letting me share the news… My mommy’s carrying my baby brother or sister ? I’m the happiest girl in the world!”
Big sister Selena did a great job of keeping quiet all those months, and over on Twitter, she hasn’t sent a tweet since June 10, perhaps busy attending to mom Mandy.
However, fellow Disney alum and pal Demi Lovato was happy to break the news for her, saying over on her own Twitter account that all was well and Selena’s brother or sister had arrived safely.
It seems Demi’s announcement scooped gossip outlets on the baby news, as she reached out to Gomez to say congrats with a bevy of exclamation points:

Selena herself used Twitter to announce the news of her soon-to-be sibling, with a Mother’s Day tweet including a picture of the singer and her mom — Gomez said:

Big sister Selena Gomez has not yet directly confirmed the birth of her sibling, believed to be a baby girl.
