A meteor? In my Wisconsin? It’s more likely than you think

The FAA (Federal Aviation Commission) has confirmed that a “fireball” reported by several Wisconsin residents just after 10pm last night was part of a meteor shower.

Authorities say no one was injured by the fireball and that it doesn’t appear to have touched the ground, nor did it cause any complications like zombies. The meteor shower was also visible in Iowa. A local Fox affiliate grabbed a user account of the meteor from Facebook (spelling and grammar unedited):

I just saw the most beautiful yet scary thing. I was watching tv and happened to look out the patio doors when I saw this bright blue streak with reddish orange at the top streak through the sky, it remained bright for 10 seconds. At first I thought it was a falling star but I have seen those. They never stay as bright and look so close as this, but by the time I got to the window, the tail was gone and it looked like a redish copper color ball dissolving.. it was definately falling downwards.

The video below, uploaded to YouTube by a sheriff’s deputy in Iowa, shows the brilliant show last night in the Midwest. Pretty amazing.
