Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard Victim Of Offensive Menu Slur

A fundraiser at the Liberal National Party was shrouded in controversy after its menu crudely poked fun at the current Australian prime minister, Julia Gillard.

On the menu was the “Julia Gillard Kentucky Fried Quail,” which possessed “small breasts, huge thighs and a big red box.”

The fundraiser was held in Brisbane back in March for the LNP’s candidate, Mal Brough, but this gross misdemeanour only became known to the public over the last few days.

Brough has apologised for the “deeply regrettable, offensive and sexist” menu that featured at the event, saying that it had been written up by a non-party member who believed that it would be “humorous” and “didn’t mean any harm by it.” He has now stated that they are “deeply apologetic” for the offense.

Brough insisted that he didn’t see the menu at the event for 20 people, which was held on March 28, and he reacted furiously to suggestions that he could be disendorsed because of the row.

Brough concluded, “I didn’t condone the menu nor did I authorise it … it should never have been written.”

The menu was made available by a Brisbane chef who worked at the unnamed restaurant that hosted the party and a staff member who catered event and took a photo of the menu.

Former Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, has called on Brough to donate the money that was raised to an animal charity, stating, “It’s snide, dirty and, I think, a sexist trick. It’s wrong, inappropriate and he should donate every dollar raised to the RSPCA.”

Rudd himself was the victim of abuse on the menu, which also featured “Rudd’s a Goose Foie Gras” and advised guests to gobble up their greens “before they take over.”

What do you think of the menu joke? Do you think they Gillard should see the lighter side of the gag?
