Microsoft Kin Streamlines Your Social Networking…In 15 Minute Intervals

Microsoft Kin wants users to have a streamlined, fully integrated way to network a users social networking on a single device, now we’ve learned that integration will work in 15 minute intervals.

The system according to Microsoft engineers will work by pulling information four times per hour or whenever the user presses the manual refresh button.

According to one Microsoft engineer:

“We didn’t want the device always pulling data from the network.”

A move the engineer cites will help save on battery life, while providing a work around for some social networks APIs which they called “immature.”

Just remember if you can’t get enough from your Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Windows Live accounts you can always grab information from the cloud with that manual refresh option. [Engadget]
