Fable 3 is currently listed as free on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
A Eurogamer forum user discovered that the action RPG could be downloaded even if the player doesn’t have Microsoft Points in their account. All you have to do is select “use Microsoft Points” to start downloading the game.
However, only Xbox Live Gold members will be able to take advantage of Fable 3‘s new free price. Silver members will have to spend 3600 Microsoft Points.
It is currently unclear whether the price drop was a mistake or an intentional treat ahead of Monday afternoon’s E3 conference. Microsoft has yet to comment on the price drop.
The game would included Fable: The Lost Chapters, additional achievements, SmartGlass integration, 1080p visuals, and a new UI.
Other new features include a new lighting system that uses Unreal 3, a new facial animation system, and new cutscene animations.
Ted Timmins, the lead designer on Fable Anniversary said the HD remake is “The game that Fable fans have been demanding for years.” He said that new achievements will reflect Fable‘s emphasis on “choice and consequence.”

While Fable Anniversary will be available for the Xbox 360 only, Fable 4 may be heading to the Xbox One. The game has been revealed to be part of Microsoft’s E3 lineup, and Softpedia reports that the title will be an Xbox One exclusive. However, it is important to note that the leaked image containing Fable 4 and other titles rumored to be part of Microsoft’s lineup was posted by a NeoGAF user and may or may not be genuine. The title was also rumored to have entered development last month, but this has yet to be confirmed.
