‘Mad Men’ Murder? Jessica Pare Talks Season Finale Theories

The Mad Men season finale has become a hot topic among viewers recently as star Jessica Pare, who plays Megan Draper in the show, was seen wearing a shirt that was worn by model Sharon Tate in an Esquire photo in 1967.

A rumor began to surface about Pare’s character being murdered in the season finale, and the Canadian actress spoke with Esquire about the latest talk.

“Well, I know [creator] Matt [Weiner] spoke about it a few days ago.I think that one of the greatest things about being on this show is that people love to talk about the characters,” she said about her character’s murder rumor. “In terms of whether that’s going to happen or not, I’m pretty sure that Matt spoke to it, but I just want to say, I don’t know.”

While she didn’t reveal whether it happens or not in the Mad Men finale, Pare did make it known that she believes the creator of the show, Matthew Weiner, has discussed the idea. Pare even spoke about her character Megan being “clueless” as to what’s going with her husband Don Draper.

“For one thing, we have an insight into his behavior far more than she does. More than he even does,” she said. “She’s still pretty much clueless as to what’s going on with him. She obviously understands that there’s something that’s not quite… There’s something missing in their relationship.”

The rumors all began after the photo surfaced of Jessica Pare wearing Tate’s shirt, which you can see here. Shortly after being released, the majority of viewers and critics began wondering whether Pare’s character is going to die or if she’s already dead.

Many believe the hit series is trying to make Megan similar to Sharon Tate, who was murdered in 1969, which would suggest the character’s eventual death.
