Sarah Jones, the former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader and teacher who pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of a teen boy, is now engaged to her former student.

The 28-year-old, who worked as a high school English teacher at Dixie Heights High School in Kentucky, pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and custodial interference in October 2012. Jones will serve five years of probation and has agreed to never apply for another teaching position.

The former cheerleader was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.

Jones' mother and former Dixie Heights principal Cheryl Armstrong Jones also pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence.

On Thursday, Jones and her former student, Cody York, posted photos on their Facebook pages announcing that they were engaged. Eric Deters, Jones' attorney, confirmed the engagement.

"There's absolutely nothing prohibiting [the victim] and Sarah from being together," Deters said.

Deters also supported the relationship, saying, "If they want to get married and live happily ever after or not, who knows? Nobody ever knows how marriage turns out. I wish them all the best."

York, who is now 19, proposed to Jones while on vacation in Florida.

Sarah Jones is currently in the middle of a $1 million defamation lawsuit against TheDirty.com. In 2009, the website claimed that Jones had two sexually transmitted diseases, and that her ex-boyfriend had cheated on her "with over 50 girls in 4 years." The website also claimed that Jones had sex with the entire Bengals team while she was a cheerleader.

In October 2012, Jones had allegedly signed a deal for her own reality show after being approached by 495 Productions, the creators of Jersey Shore. Since York is no longer a minor, he was expected to be part of the series as well. However, at the time of this writing, no such reality show ever came to fruition.
