‘Call Of Duty: Ghosts’ Gets New Trailer Featuring Dog Riley [Video]

Call of Duty: Ghosts has landed a new trailer featuring the dog Riley.

In spite of the disappointing show at the Xbox One reveal, one thing has remained a positive throughout its time in the public eye. Call of Duty: Ghosts remains one of the most impressive first-person shooters to be made for a console. It will take advantage of the Xbox One’s Kinect voice controls to allow you to actually tell the dog Riley what to do.

We imagine that the PlayStation 4 version of Call of Duty: Ghosts will give us the same option, so Microsoft shouldn’t feel too confident that they have this round of the console wars even close to won.

Infinity Ward producer Mark Rubin has announced that the dog’s name is Riley, and the Call of Duty: Ghosts canine companion will be a stealth attacker, grabbing and holding enemies in place while you take them out.

Where the previous trailer showed off the underwater aspects of Call of Duty: Ghosts, with animated fish and guns that might actually be able to work underwater in real life, the new trailer features the dog Riley.

The trailer begins with a view from the top of the grass, “Okay, looks like we’re good. We’re getting sector scan. Contact. Enemy patrol approaching from the west. Do not engage. Let him get closer. Get ready. Do it.”

It turns out that we were seeing the game from the eyes of the dog Riley, as we suddenly race toward an enemy soldier, barking, and tackle him.

The player soldier says, “Take him out!” We then see through the scope of a rifle as it aims and shoots the enemy soldier. “Clear. That’s the third group in 20 miles. Keep your eyes peeled, there could be more of them.”

We follow along behind a fellow soldier and the dog Riley as the group races down a path in the grass. They stop at what appears to be a cave entrance as the voice says, “Stand by.”

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii U November 5. The next generation versions will be released at a later date.
