Carey Mulligan Now Favorite For Hillary Clinton Biopic

Carey Mulligan is now the favorite to take the leading role in an upcoming biopic of Hillary Rodham Clinton, the former US Secretary of State and First Lady.

It has been reported by the Hollywood Reporter that Mulligan will play Clinton during her formative years, where she was a student, lawyer, and burgeoning politician.

Mulligan is wanted by Temple Hill and The Arlook Group’s biopic entitled, Rodham, and she is now clamoured for by the movie’s producers. Several other leading actresses have been linked with the role, such as Jessica Chastain, Emma Stone, and Scarlett Johnasson, but Mulligan is the first British thespian to be linked with the film.

It is thought that the An Education star, who was nominated for an Academy Award thanks to her performance, will now discuss the role with The Spectacular Now’s James Ponsoldt, and both individuals are very keen to work with one another.

Some sources have stated that the decision is far from finalised though and other actresses are being considered for the role.

Rodham’s script was written by Young Il Kim and was on the 2012 Black List. According to the Hollywood Reporter, “The indie drama portrays Rodham as a young lawyer on the committee involved in President Richard Nixon’s impeachment, and her juggling a diverging career path with her unresolved feelings for future president Bill Clinton.”

Recently Jim has looked to downplay the idea that his script his highly sexual, telling The Daily Telegraph, “I didn’t write 50 Shades of Rodham, as some news outlets are suggesting. I am a boring prude with little imagination.”

However a leaked script revealed that there are some suprisingly sexual moments, which include a sex scene between Hillary and Bill.
