Katy Perry And John Mayer Make Third Relationship Attempt [Report]

Katy Perry and John Mayer are back on for the third time, according to numerous reports.

Though the two celebrity musicians have given a relationship a try twice before, reports have it that they’re attempting a third round to see if it’ll work out (protip: it never does). The two were spotted cozying up at a Memorial Day barbecue, with the gossip mill howling louder than ever that the two are trying it out yet again.

A couple of sources tell E! News that Katy Perry and John Mayer are indeed “back on,” but that their latest trial run is more of a “casual” romance.

“They are just hanging out,” says one tattler. “They are not putting a label on it.”

The two first got together in the summer of 2012 after the 28-year-old’s divorce from comedian Russell Brand, only to split a few months later. The reconciled shortly thereafter and made it all the way to March 2013 before calling it quits yet again.

But these two just can’t seem to quit each other, as they have been seeing each other every single day and even “spending nights together.”

While at the Memorial Day get-together, sources say the two were “very flirty and having a really good time together.” The source added that the couple seems to be back together, or at least “back together-ish.”

When he was asked about the break up in April, 35-year-old Mayer told Ellen DeGeneres: “I’m on the same journey as everyone else. Coupling is a tricky thing.”

In recent interviews, Mayer has seemingly expressed a desire to move past his reputation as a serial womanizer and settle down for good. We’d call his on-again, off-again relationship with Perry a rocky start to such an ambitious reform, but you never know what could happen.

Our advice to both Katy Perry and John Mayer – if the third time isn’t a charm, stick a fork in it and move on.

Do you think that Katy Perry and John Mayer make a cute couple?
