Channing Tatum Worries About Justin Bieber

Channing Tatum is still celebrating the birth of his daughter, but that doesn’t mean he can’t take time out of day to worry about troubled pop star Justin Bieber.

The Magic Mike star told Vanity Fair that he is concerned about the Canadian “Baby” singer, citing the toll fame can take on a person when they’re still so young.

“I worry about Bieber, man. That kid’s wildly talented,” the 33-year-old actor said. “I hope he doesn’t fall down into the usual ways of young kids because it’s so hard for someone to be responsible when they’re not asked to be.”

But Tatum is mostly making news these days over the birth of his daughter, Everly, on May 31. He and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, announced their first child’s birth over the weekend, slowly revealing the baby’s sex and name over the past several days.

When it comes to parenting little Everly, Tatum said that he already knows what kind of father he wants to be.

“I’m just going to be a good friend to my kid,” he said prior to his daughter’s birth. “One thing I definitely want to change is that whole ‘I don’t want you to make the same mistakes’ mentality. My dad didn’t have much money growing up; he didn’t have much of an education. He forced that on me, and I didn’t want it.”

He also said that he’s planning on taking parenting one day at a time.

“I don’t think you can prepare. It’s a bit of a freestyle,” he said. “I don’t know anyone who did have perfect parents. It’s provided me with lessons I’ll try to improve upon when I’m up to bat.”

At the time of the interview, Tatum did not know the sex of his baby, but it turns out that he had guessed correctly all along. “My wife thinks boy. I think girl,” he said.
