Zayn Malik: One Direction Star Gets Help From Mom On Twitter

Zayn Malik is getting a bit of help from mom.

The One Direction star has been getting plenty of hate on Twitter for his Muslim faith and South Asian background, which grew so intense that he temporarily quit the microblogging site earlier this year.

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton reported in August that the pop singer deleted his account after taking too much abuse, encouraging fans to use the official 1D Twitter page to reach him.

“The reason I don’t tweet as much as i use to, is because I’m sick of all the useless opinions and hate that i get daily goodbye twitter,” Zayn Malik wrote in one of his last posts.

Malik added: “My fans that have something nice to say can tweet me on the one direction account. ? x”

He eventually returned to Twitter, and now has his mom as backup. Trish Malik has used the site to fire back at her sons critics, telling one: “Hope you’re happy now Zayn noticed your tweet! You can’t even imagine how it made him upset, you psycho.”

It’s good for Malik to have mom on his side, but the One Direction star may have brought the scorn on himself, Perez Hilton wrote last year. Hilton suggested the singer was targeted after rumors that the cheated on his girlfriend, Little Mix star Perrie Edwards.

Hilton referenced a video shot through a hotel room peep hole allegedly showing Malik hitting on another girl. The video reportedly showed a bodyguard telling the girl to leave, but Malik tells her to come back in half an hour. Malik then yelled at his bodyguard.

Malik and Edwards eventually broke up, leading to an incident where the One Direction star cried on stage while singing the ballad “Little Things” at a concert in Glasgow. Concertgoers said the 19-year-old was emotional throughout his verses for the hit single.

Anyone who might be tempted to make fun of Zayn Malik for his on-stage tears might think twice, though. They might have his mom to contend with.
