Courtney Cox and David Arquette are officially divorced.
The celebrity couple, who would have celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary this June, finalized their divorce on May 28 at the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Cox and Arquette only recently finalized their divorce, but they’ve been separated for several years. According to Us Magazine, Cox, 48, and Arquette, 41, separated in October of 2011 after 11 years of marriage. They filed for divorce in June of 2012 and finally finalized their divorce this week.
Cox and Arquette’s romantic relationship may be over, but the former Friends actress insists that she still loves her ex-husband.
Cox said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show: “He’s my best friend in the world … I don’t recommend divorce in general, but he is my best friend and we’ve both grown and changed, and I think we both appreciate each other more.”
Arquette returned the sentiment in an interview with People Magazine.
Arquette said: “She’s incredible … I love her, too, and she’s an amazing person, a beautiful person.”
TMZ notes that Courteney and David have an 8-year-old daughter together. In their divorce papers, both parties requested joint legal and physical custody of their daughter Coco.
Yahoo News notes that David has been dating Entertainment Tonight correspondent Christina McLarty since the separation while Cox said that she’s “just not ready” to start dating yet.
