Fake Psy Strikes Monaco Grand Prix Just Days After Cannes Scame

A fake impostor of the Korean pop star, Psy, struck the Monaco Grand Prix over the weekend, duping several celebrities in the process, just days after he appeared at the Cannes Film Festival.

Psy lookalike, Denis Carre, tricked dozens of film stars at the annual event in the south of France, and it took until the real Psy revealed it wasn’t him to make people became aware of the deception.

But on Sunday, at the Monaco Grand Prix, he managed to wangle a photograph with the likes of Amanda Holden and David Hasselhoff, even though Psy was playing a concert in Italy on the same day. Both Holden and Hasselhoff posted pictures of themselves alongside Psy on their Twitter feeds.

To be fair though, both Holden and Hasselhoff questioned whether or not Carre was actually Psy, captioning the picture, “Not sure if this guy is kosher?! Rumours circulating he was a fake? What do YOU think?!”

Whilst Hasselhoff, who tweeted a picture of him, Carre, and his girlfriend Hayley Roberts, stated, “Was that really PSY? I think not!!”

Carre recently discussed his scam, telling the British television network, Channel 5’s news team, “The game was pretty well played, we prepared a lot with my manager and communication team on how we were going to do that. We had the bodyguards, we had the cars, we had event managers ready for it … just to have the illusion.”

It is believed that Carre was able to get free drinks and bottle service whilst at the Torch Beach Club, whose other guests included Mark Ronson and Justin Timberlake, whilst he also rubbed shoulders with the likes of Goga Ashkenazi, Rosario Dawson and Karolina Kurkova at the Chateau Garibondy too.

Psy acknowledged his dobbelganger on Twitter, stating, “Seems like there’s another ME at cannes … say HI to him.”

What did you think of the fake Psy? Do you think he would have tricked you?
