A new image from Thor: The Dark World gives fans a good look at the film’s villain.

Former Dr. Who star Christopher Eccleston will square off against the blonde superhero in director Alan Taylor’s upcoming sequel. Although much has been said about the villain, nobody has gotten a really good look at the guy until now.

According to Collider, Christopher Eccleston will star as Dark Elf Malekith the Accursed in Thor: The Dark World. However, plot details are still few and far between at this point. Even the recently-released trailer keeps the story’s specifics under wraps.

A new batch of images from Taylor’s flick recently appeared in an issue of Empire magazine. However, you can find a pic of Eccleston as Malekith embedded below. More photos, including glimpses of the villainous dark elves, can be found over at Cinema Blend.

Here’s how Marvel describes the next Thor movie:

“In the aftermath of Marvel’s ‘Thor’ and Marvel’s ‘The Avengers,’ Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.”

In addition to Christopher Eccleston, the sequel stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo, and Anthony Hopkins.
