Amanda Bynes Sexual Assault Claim To Be Investigated By NYPD

Amanda Bynes claims that she was sexually assaulted by a police officer during her arrest earlier this week.

The troubled actress was arrested after she allegedly threw a bong out of her window. Officers took Bynes down to the station and they reportedly assaulted her on their way.

Bynes wrote: “I was sexually harassed by one of the cops the night before last which is who then arrested me … He lied and said I threw a bong out the window when I opened the window for fresh air. Hilarious. He slapped my vagina. Sexual harassment. Big deal … I then called the cops on him. He handcuffed me, which I resisted, quite unlike any of the reports stated. Then I was sent to a mental hospital. Offensive.”

The officer’s version of events is a little different. A doorman reportedly called the cops when he spotted Bynes smoking a joint in the hotel lobby. Police arrived at the actress’ apartment and smelled marijuana. When they went inside, they spotted Bynes tossing a bong out of her apartment window. Bynes was arrested, taken to a mental hospital for evaluation, and then to police station for booking.

During her court appearance, Bynes said that the officers entered her apartment illegally. She did not mention the sexual assault in court.

Still, NYPD chief spokesman Paul Browne said that they were taking the claim seriously and would start an investigation.

Browne said: “As it would with any such allegation, regardless of its credibility, IAB is investigating it.”
