‘Grand Theft Auto 5 Special Edition’ Lets You Ride A Blimp

Grand Theft Auto 5 Special Edition will let you ride the blimp.

What started as a subtle ad campaign for a fake religion in the form of a clever screen saver is now one of the most anticipated games of the year. Grand Theft Auto 5 is the next title in the long-running series about grabbing other people’s cars and conquering the city, and of course raising as much hell as you can in the process.

Grand Theft Auto 5 now follows the criminal careers of three different protagonists. Michael, Trevor and Franklin are all in the game for different reasons. Michael is a retired bank robber living with his dysfunctional family, using his ill-gotten gains to get by. Trevor is a drug addict who used to work with Michael, and now lives alone in a trailer. Franklin is a repo man for a crooked car dealership. They all get sucked into a new wave of crime in pursuit of the almighty American dollar.

The Special Edition of Grand Theft Auto 5 will net you a bit of “swag,” such as a blueprint map of Los Santos and artwork of the game’s three protagonists. You’ll get attribute boosts to your in-game character, free access to new weapons, and additional Stunt Plane challenges.

Grand Theft Auto 5 Collector’s Edition gets you even more goodies. You’ll get everything from the Special Edition, plus a security deposit bag, a New Era 9FIFTY snapback cap with embroidered Los Santos, Rockstar and V logos. You’ll also be able to use classic GTA characters in the game online, as well as a hotrod and a sports bike, and you’ll have the ability to use an electric car online.

If you pre-orderGrand Theft Auto 5 in any form, even regular retail, you’ll get access to the blimp you’ll see flying around the city. We wonder if you’ll be able to skydive or parachute from there and cause some mayhem.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is slated to hit September 17 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Are you excited for the release of Grand Theft Auto 5? Will you pre-order the game and ride the blimp?
