Ray Lewis To Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro To Raise Money For Charity

Ray Lewis is going to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

Lewis retired from the NFL this year but he isn’t quite ready to cut back on his workouts. The former Ravens linebacker said that he will soon tackle Mt. Kilimanjaro as part of an effort to raise awareness for clean water projects.

Lewis made the announcement on Twitter, writing: “Fans U know 1st- Tackling Kilimanjaro 2 bring clean H2O to kids in Africa.”

The peak of Mount Kilimanjaro stands at 19,000 feet above sea level and is one of the tallest mountains in the world. Lewis said that he was “fired up” to Tackle Kili next month and is asking people to donate money to his website in order to bring clean water to east Africa.

Lewis writes on the website: “In one month, I will climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise money and awareness for clean water projects in East Africa. I am so FIRED UP for this adventure, but until then, I need your help to bring clean water wells to thousands of children and families. Show your support by following my TackleKili journey, spreading the word, and donating to TackleKili. Each action you complete below earns you more entries to win my autographed helmet! Thank you for your support and good luck!”

Lewis, 38, ended his NFL career last season with a Super Bowl victory. After conquering Mt. Kilimanjaro, Lewis will join ESPN as an NFL analyst.
