Melissa McCarthy Fires Extra On Set Of Her New Movie

Melissa McCarthy reportedly fired an extra from the set of her new movie after she spotted the actress mistreating a child.

According to TMZ, the comedian was filming her new movie Tammy in Wilmington, North Carolina, when she noticed one of the extras yelling at her child.

The woman, reportedly in her 20s, was yelling at her five-year-old child on the set of McCarthy’s movie. The noise was loud enough to disrupt filming, which involved more than 200 extras, and at one point the woman allegedly lifted her child harshly by the wrist.

The comedian didn’t like what she saw and decided to fire the woman.

McCarthy hasn’t commented on the incident.

Yahoo News reports that extras were being paid about $60 a day to film near a lake in Wilmington, North Carolina.

McCarthy, who earned an Oscar nomination for her role in Bridesmaids, is currently filming Tammy with Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates, and Dan Akyroyd. McCarthy co-wrote the movie with her husband Ben Falcone. The duo will also be directing the movie.

Here’s the synopsis from IMDB: “After losing her job and learning that her husband has been unfaithful, a woman hits the road with her profane, hard-drinking grandmother.”

Tammy won’t be in theaters for awhile but McCarthy fans can see the actress in the latest Hangover movie this weekend.
