Graco Recalls 1.2 Million High Chairs Over Safety Concerns


Graco, makers of various children’s products have announced today the recall of 1.2 million high chairs that were manufactured between November 2003 and December 2009.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Graco received reports that the high chairs front legs could loosen and fall off, while the plastic bracket on the chairs rear legs can also crack, causing the high chair to unexpectedly fall over.

According to the recall, Graco has now received 464 reports of the above issues, while 24 injuries ranging from bumps and bruises on the head, to hairline fractures of the arms and cuts and bruises to the child’s body.

The recall includes all “Harmony” High Chairs produced from November 2003 to December 2009. According to Graco, the high chairs are no longer is production.

Look at the underside of your high chairs foot rest for one of the following model numbers:

According to MSNBC:

The model numbers may begin with the letter A, B, C or D. Additional models affected are 1752404, 1755859, 1755860, 1757259, 1757412, and 1760429.

The high chairs main sellers include AAFES, Burlington Coat Factory, Toys “R” Us, Babies “R” Us, Walmart, Target, Shopko, USA Baby and various others. The high chairs were available from December 2003 through March 2010.
