Navigon Slashes Map Pricing By Regionalizing Software For Smartphones

GPS manufacturers have watched their stocks plummet with the advent of turn-by-turn voice guided directions ala Google Maps, but Navigon has a solution, drastically cut the price of maps by offering 1/3rd the amount.

The concept is simple, for $30 you can choose either the Eastern, Western of Central U.S. at which point those maps become available on your phone. Travel into another area and Navigon will allow you to purchase that regions maps for an additional $15, allow for full U.S. maps (if needed) for $60.

Users can also choose to pay a little extra and receive other Navigon services such as customized route recommendations and alternate routes.

Purchase MyRegion by April 12th and you can grab it for a discounted price of $25. [TUAW]
