Jessica Simpson Angry At Nick Lachey Over Remarks About Her Dad

Jessica Simpson has a bone to pick with her ex-husband Nick Lachey.

According to recent reports, the singer, actress, and fashion designer isn’t too happy about the insensitive remarks Lachey made about her father.

The trouble started when the 98 Degrees singer appeared on Watch What Happens Live. While chatting about his ex-wife, Lachey made some unkind comments about Jessica’s father, Joe Simpson.

“The best thing about not having Joe Simpson anymore as a father-in-law is I don’t have to play grab-ass under the table on Easter Sunday,” Nick Lachey told host Andy Cohen.

“It may not be [funny] tomorrow, but it is tonight,” he later added.

These comments have not settled well with Jessica Simpson. Understandably upset by her former spouse’s accusations, she is said to be extremely furious with Lachey.

Of course, all of news regarding Jessica Simpson’s reaction to Nick Lachey’s inappropriate joke are coming from a host of anonymous sources. As such, it’s probably best to take reports of Simpsons’ response to her ex-husband’s appearance with a grain of salt since she has not addressed the situation in an official capacity.

One of these anonymous individuals reportedly told Star magazine that Jessica Simpson sent Lachey an angry text message indicating that he should keep his mouth shut about her father. A rep for the Dukes of Hazzard star told Gossip Cop that these rumors were entirely false.

Another anonymous source told Radar Online that Simpson was hurt and angry over the comments Lachey made during his appearance on the Bravo chat show.

“Jessica was disappointed that he would even speak about her at all. It’s been eight years since they were married and six years since they last spoke. Jessica doesn’t feel that Nick has a right to speak about her business anymore,” the source explained.

For those who don’t follow the intimate details of Jessica Simpson’s life, her father was accused in 2012 of having an affair with male escort Bryce Chandler. Joe and Tina Simpson later separated. The couple’s divorce was finalized earlier this year.
