Jordin Sparks Discusses Weight Loss, Getting Healthy

Jordin Sparks discussed her new look and her weight loss during a recent interview.

The singer and American Idol winner dropped an amazing 50 pounds after struggling with her weight for years. In addition to the slimmer look, Sparks showed off her new bangs during the Words With Friends event in New York City on Wednesday.

Although many people were blown away by Jordin Sparks and her new look, she told the New York Daily News that getting healthy and staying thin doesn’t happen overnight.

The American Idol singer said she made the decision to improve her quality of life after suffering from appendicitis nearly three years ago.

“It was then that I made the decision ‘I’m supposed to be in the prime of my life. This changes right now.’ And I really started making my health a priority,” she explained.

Sparks added, “For me to be on stage singing and dancing, the stamina that I have now is better. I don’t get sick as much anymore. I feel better, I have more energy, I sleep better, everything is better.”

Jordin Sparks explained to Redbook that she’s always struggled to control her weight. She said that the key to shedding those unwanted pounds and getting healthy is to find an exercise that works best for you.

“I never felt like I was suffering by eating less and exercising more. The key was finding exercises I enjoyed. If you don’t, you won’t stick with it,” she told the publication.

At the end of the day, Jordin Sparks said that she just wanted to feel better. She attributed her poor health to the fact that she wasn’t paying attention to what she was eating. In order to stay healthy, Sparks said she had to make some serious changes to her lifestyle.

“I knew I had a long road ahead of me. I was barely working out, and my diet was a mess,” she told Shape magazine last year.
