Google Android: Now With Gesture Searches!

If you don’t feel like being troubled with scrolling through hundreds of contacts on your Google Android based phone, you now have a new option, gesture search.

The use of the new option is simple, just scribble a letter on the screen (pictured) and you’ll be taken to the first option with that letter. For example in the contacts screen scribbling the letter “N” will take you to all names starting with that letter, in alphabetical order.

The new gesture search is available on Android 2.0+ phones and works with contacts, applications, music and bookmarks among other offerings.

If you have the hand writing of a doctor, don’t fret, Android will bring up several possible letters you might have written and you can choose the correct option at that time.

You can find Gesture Search in the Android Market. [GadgetCrave via Google Mobile Blog]
