Jane Levy Files For Divorce From Actor Jaime Freitas
Actress Jane Levy has filed for divorce after being married for only seven months.
Reports of the Evil Dead star’s divorce is certainly news to her legion of fans. The actress secretly tied the knot with fellow thespian Jaime Freitas in March of 2011.
However, rumors are suggesting that the couple decided to separate after only seven months. Jane Levy didn’t file for divorce until April 16.
Although the actress has done plenty of press junkets for both the Evil Dead remake and her television series Suburgatory, she never mentioned that she was married.
Given that Levy tends to play teenage girls, it’s not altogether surprising that many didn’t realize the actress was married. According to TMZ, court documents site “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
Regardless of the problems that caused them to separate, Jane Levy and Jaime Freitas did a remarkable job of keeping their marriage under wraps. Prior to the reports of their divorce, very little information about their relationship was available to the public.
Neither Levy nor Freitas have commented publicly on the divorce as of this writing. Considering they didn’t talk about their marriage when they were together, chances are they’re not going to discuss it now.
Although the actress appeared in the Showtime series Shameless and Josh Schwartz’s 2012 comedy Fun Size, Jane Levy’s career really didn’t start to take off until her stint on the TV series Suburgatory. The show just finished its second season on ABC.
Levy also made an impact as troubled teenager Mia in director Fede Alvarez’s insanely gory Evil Dead remake. The film proved that she definitely has range, especially considering the transformation she undergoes over the course of the film.
The actress was recently cast in director Bharat Nalluri’s upcoming thriller In a Dark Place. The movie is expected to be released at some point during 2014.
