NYC Realty Offers Hefty Raise If Workers Get Tattoos

Would you get a tattoo (forever) of your employer’s name or logo if it meant a significant raise? One New York City realtor is doing just that … giving workers a 15 percent pay hike for bodily committing to their current employer until death or laser.

Rapid Realty in New York has a stunning number of employees with Rapid Realty tattoos — 40 separate people have in fact taken the real estate company up on their strange offer and allowed themselves to become permanently inked in exchange for a larger paycheck.

And in the fast paced world of New York real estate, all 40 of the employees with Rapid Realty tattoos have remained employed with the company.

CEO Anthony Lolli, explains that employees are allowed to customize the tattoo to their liking, and can ostensibly get the ink anywhere on their bodies.

When asked if getting an employer’s name tattooed on your body (in this job market especially) is “crazy,” Lolli replied:

“I don’t think so … Some people fall in love with the opportunity. They fall in love with the brand.”

Lolli said the idea came from one eager agent’s choice to get a Rapid Realty tattoo and his reaction — he says:

“He calls me up, he says ‘Hey Anthony, I’m getting the logo on me.’ I show up at the shop and I’m like ‘this is cool, how can I repay you?'”

It isn’t just the 15 percent raise Lolli offers to employees who submit to a Rapid Realty tattoo — he also picks up the cost of the ink, which ranges in New York and has cost some as much as $300.

While a Rapid Realty tattoo comes with a potentially big bonus, the incentive is commission based — so in addition to having to bear the logo on their skin forever, workers also have to move properties to snag the cool perk.
