DJ Mister Cee Addresses Prostitution Arrest, Says He’s Not Gay

Hot 97 DJ Mister Cee addressed his recent arrest on the station’s morning show Monday.

Mister Cee, whose real name is Calvin Lebrun, was arrested Friday for allegedly trying to pick up a prostitute. It turns out that the prostitute was an undercover police officer.

Mister Cee said that he had pulled over to make a phone call while driving in Brooklyn, and was approached by the officer, who offered sex. Cee says he declined. It was initially reported that the undercover cop was a male, but Cee said that wasn’t true.

“I am not gay,” Mister Cee told program director Ebro Darden. “They tried to turn it around and say the female officer was a male officer. It was a sting operation.”

Mister Cee went on to say, “Let’s say if I’m lying, that’s my choice. If I’m lying and I chose not to come out, that’s my choice.”

This isn’t the first time Mister Cee has been arrested for soliciting a prostitute. In 2011, he pleaded guilty to loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution. Cee was busted receiving oral sex from a 20-year-old male named Lawrence Campbell, a.k.a. Brooke-Lynn. Cee denied the allegations and said he wasn’t in the car with anyone when he was arrested.

He was arrested on the same charge in October 2010, and pleaded guilty in that case as well.

Mister Cee maintains that he has never engaged in homosexual activity, but he did admit to picking up prostitutes. He said he has been going to counseling to get help for his addiction.

Mister Cee, who is best known as the DJ for Big Daddy Kane in the late ’80s and early ’90s, also decided to take an undisclosed amount of time off from the radio station.

“I’ma suspend myself, I’ma take myself off the radio,” he said. “I’ma take some time off and I’ma suspend myself.”
