Viagra Online: Buyers Can Soon Order Blue Pill From Home

Pretty soon you’ll be able to get Viagra online, because Pfizer knows how embarrassing it can be for some men to pick up the blue pill from their local pharmacy.

Yes, no matter how manly they make using Viagra look in their commercials (see below), the company behind the groundbreaking erectile dysfunction drug wants to give their customers a more discreet purchasing option.

In an unprecedented move, Pfizer plans to implement a way to purchase Viagra online.

It’s a pretty novel idea for patients with conditions that could be considered embarrassing. You’ll still need a prescription to get it online, so there’s no way to avoid telling your doctor you have trouble down there. But waiting in line at your local Walgreens or CVS could be a thing of the past: You could redeem your script directly at Viagra.com.

Sounds crazy convenient, but will it work? One Edward Jones analyst thinks that the strategy could pay off for Pfizer in the long run, and possibly improve flagging sales.

“Whether it returns Viagra to growth is hard to say,” he said. Oh, I see what you did there.

That’s one of the major reasons behind the online push, as well: Sales. Viagra is expensive (at roughly $25 per pill) but that’s mostly due to distribution costs. By selling direct, Pfizer can slash the price and attract new (and returning) business.

Further, knock-off Viagra is a huge problem. Pfizer loses untold business each year to “generic Viagra” which can be purchased online, and for cheap. Before you go searching for it, know this: There is no such thing as “generic Viagra.” You’re pretty much buying sugar pills.

What do you think? Would you like the option to discreetly purchase Viagra online?
