Emma Kenney didn't hold back while talking about former co-star Emmy Rossum, who was apparently difficult to work with.

Kenney recently guested on the Call Her Daddy podcast. She shared a lot of personal stories from working on the set of Showtime's Shameless, among them was her bad experience with Emmy Rossum.

Read on below to see what she had to say.

The Gallagher Sisters

Emmy Rossum and Emma Kenney play the Gallagher sisters on the hit series. The two have developed a sister-like dynamic off the show but it wasn't the easy relationship that Kenney wanted it to be.

"There were times where she would try to be a good influence and then there were times where she would be blatantly giving me…not the best advice,” Kenney said.

“Maybe she was struggling with her own inner problems and taking it out on other people. But we all handle situations differently.”

According to Kenney, Rossum made it a little difficult for the people on set when she wasn't having a good day.

“I remember pre-her leaving, I’d go to set some days and I’d be very anxious about having a scene with her because if she had a bad day, she made it a bad day for everybody.”

Kenney also shared that after Rossum's departure, the set became "a little bit more of a positive place."

When Emmy left the show after nine seasons, she didn't seem to have any issues with her co-stars. She even wrote an open letter and said she would be rooting for her family.

"I can say for certain that this cast and crew, who I've been truly honored to work alongside, are world class," she wrote.

"I know you will continue on without me, for now. There is much more Gallagher story to be told. I will always be rooting for my family. Try not to think of me as gone, just think of me as moving down the block.")

Fiona Didn't Return For Shameless Season 11

The show ended its eleven-season run on April 2021. While many fans were hoping Rossum would return as Fiona for one last time, the actress didn't make an appearance on the finale.

Despite the bad blood, Kenney expressed that she still wishes happiness for her former TV sister.

“We haven’t spoken in years,” Kenney said on the podcast. “But that’s OK. … I hope she finds her happiness. I heard she had a baby and that’s beautiful. I’m sure she’s going to be a lovely mother.”
