We may only be half-way through 2021 but already, Netflix has released a number of thrilling original movies, many of which feature A-list actors and actresses.

In a report shared by Esquire, the outlet provided a list of their very best options from the streaming service, starting with Pieces of a Woman.

Pieces of a Woman stars actors Vanessa Kirby, Shia LaBoeuf, and Ellen Burstyn, and follows the story of a tragic pregnancy that leads to absolute chaos in a couple's marriage.

Carey Mulligan Stars In 'The Dig'

The report went on to mention The Dig, which stars Carey Mulligan and takes viewers into the early 20th century in Britain.

In the film, Mulligan plays a wealthy widow who hires an archeologist to excavate burial mounds on her land and quickly learns that her land is filled with all sorts of secrets, and a medieval ship.

Another film shared is Finding 'Ohana, which Esquire described as "The Goonies but in modern-day Hawaii."

The movie is family friendly and follows two Brooklyn-raised siblings as they reconnect with their roots.

One Movie Was Filmed In The Midst Of The Pandemic

Malcolm and Marie was filmed by Zendaya Coleman, who plays Marie, and writer-director Sam Levinson in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.

In the movie, the relationship between Malcolm, who is played by John David Washington, and Marie is contemplated after the couple returns home from Malcolm's movie premiere.

Fan favorite high school drama To All the Boys is back with Always and Forever, which serves as the finale installment of the hit franchise.

In I Care A Lot, viewers will watch as Rosamund Pike's character gets caught up with the wrong woman while attempting to con the elderly out of their savings.

If you're in the hunt for a knee-slapper, look no further than Moxie, Amy Poehler’s latest coming-of-age comedy, which follows a 16-year-old girl as she anonymously publishes a magazine that challenges her school's sexist status quo.

Another comedy worth checking out is Jennifer Garner's Yes Day.

The film follows two parents as they spend a full day saying "yes" to absolutely everything their children ask them to do.

Esquire wrapped up their list by mentioning Concrete Cowboy, a Western drama starring Idris Elba that follows a teenage boy as he discovers a world of urban cowboys in Philadelphia, and Thunder Force, an action comedy that follows a couple of superheroes played by Octavia Spencer and Melissa McCarthy.

"In a world where people live among supervillains, Spencer and McCarthy play a pair of childhood best friends who become an unlikely force against evil when one of them develops a formula to give regular people superpowers," the outlet teased.
